This home was similar to a lot of the other homes in this neighbourhood. The rooms were split down the middle separated by a hallway. With an “L” shaped kitchen in the back corner, the functionality was limited. The front of the home had a dining room on one side and a long living room on the other side of the home. To access the backdoor, you would use a single hung door off the hallway. It was tired, lacked appeal and was like every other home. The customer desired an open concept for entertaining and wanted to freshen the space. Something new, something different, something they would look forward to coming home to at the end of the day.
With the walls down, the customer started to understand the vision we created for their home. We expanded the kitchen cabinetry to allow for additional storage, created an island for early mornings and a place for homework after school while dinner was being prepared.
This entire main floor was transformed into a unique space that highlights their home and will be timeless for many years to come.
This main floor transformation was a finalist for “Best Renovation 200-350,000” award in the 2022 @LondonHBA Awards of Creative Excellence.
